FEEDING GUIDELINES
Rabbits need a mixture of carbohydrates for energy, protein for growth, and vitamins and minerals for good health. Nunn-Better Rabbit Pellets are scientifically formulated to provide these needs. Feed Buck and Dry Does the amount of rabbit pellets they will eat in 20 to 30 minutes each day. All food may be given at one feeding in the evening. This will average 4-6 ounces per day for medium breeds. Feed Pregnant Does about 6 ounces of rabbit pellets per day until young are born. Offer rabbit pellets to Nursing Does at all times, using a feeder that holds waste to a minimum. Watch the condition of your animal. If rabbit appears thin, increase amount of feed; if overweight, cut back on the amount of feed. Hay is not necessary, but may be fed as a supplement. Water dishes should be cleaned daily, and fresh water should be given each rabbit once or twice a day. It is usually best to feed and water your rabbit at about the same time each day. Rabbits are clean animals; they like to live in clean surroundings. Provide shade, protection and a hutch that is dry, clean, draft-free, but well ventilated.
